BITES AND BURNS COOLING GEL

BITES AND BURNS COOLING GEL

The warm weather is showing up more each week and with it, rememberings of last year’s sun-glowing skin and the return of the mozzies, so I’m making sure I have my favourite cooling gel in the fridge and first aid kits.

This family friendly potions is super simple to make and has easy to source ingredients if you’re thinking about giving it a go.

INGREDIENTS
¼ cup of Aloe vera gel (Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Glycerin, Xanthan Gum, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin)
8 drops of pepperming essential oil (Mentha x piperita)
8 drops of lavander essential oil (Lavendula spp)
8 drops of German chamomile essential oil (Matricaria chamomilla)

NB: Make sure to check the safety guidelines around any essential oils that you use. Patch test before use.

DIRECTIONS
Mix and store all ingredients in a clean dry jar in a cool dark space for up to six months. I like to keep mine in the fridge for that extra cooling and soothing effect.
