This month I've been learning about the harvest festival of Lammas or Lughnasadh and if you are like me, you love to learn about this stuff but also don't have a lot of time so here's the short version:
LAMMAS/LUGHNASADH
This time of union of the God and Goddess is a wonderful time to celebrate and bring in gratitude for all the abundant blessings in your life. This is a time for harvesting all that you have sowed earlier in the year at Imbolc.
Lammas Ritual (Usually celebrated on the 1st February)*
Take a handful of corn kernals and some oats in a cup and scatter them outside. As you do say “I give thanks for my blessings, I give back to the earth, as the cycle moves on towards nature’s rebirth”. Spend some time sitting outside and soaking up the energy of the earth. In your head, list all of the things that you are grateful for, and then think of all the things you could do to make your world an even better place.
