This is a great surface cleaner for around the house. It also means that you can use up all those abundant citrus peels. Best of all though, it's super easy to make.
- Fill a jar with orange and lemon peels (I try and get as much of the white pith of as I can).
- Cover with white vinegar. You can usually buy this from bulk stores and refill your own bottle.
- Put on a lid and leave to sit for four to six weeks.
- Seive vinegar, add essential oils (if wanted), and store in a spray bottle.
Use as a spray ‘n’ wipe for kitchen benches, bathroom sinks etc. For those that don't like the tangy scent, I find that the vinegar smell disappears quickly once the solution has dried.
NB: Make sure to check the safety guidelines around any essential oils that you use and always spot test surfaces first.
