One of my favourite parts about trying to be a zero waste household is that you get to make your own compost and/or worm farm. I’m no expert on this, I just follow the basic principals and it seems to work out alright but if you do want to learn how to do this really well then pop over to www.blueborage.co.nz and connect with Katrina – she is the compost queen!
If making compost isn’t your thing, then check in with your local council or do a bit of a google search as there are some really good composting initiatives starting up in many suburbs. They come and pick up your food waste weekly and they turn it into compost for the community.
